Srinagar: A top militant commander Zahid Rashid Bhat alias Zahid Tiger was among two militants who were killed while as one was arrested alive in a gunfight in Dadoora Kangan area of Pulwama on Saturday.
An official told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that two militants were killed while as one was captured alive during the gunfight.
He identified the killed militants as Zahid Rashid Bhat son of Ab Rashid Bhat resident of Drabgam, Pulwama, top commander of Lashkar-e-Toiba who was cousin of top Hizb commander Sameer Bhat alias Sameer Tiger and was active from last several years.
The other killed militant was identified as Adnan, who is said to be non-local, official said, adding that during search operation one militant was captured alive who has been identified as Firdous Ahmad Tak from Doda area of Jammu.
Earlier an official said that a joint team of Police, army’s 50 RR and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation on specific information about the presence of militants in the area.
He said that as the joint teams of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them which was retaliated, triggering an gunfight —(KNO)
