A day after a nineteen-year-old boy from Srinagar’s old city went missing, his family members on Friday made a fervent appeal to their son to return home for the sake of his parents.

“Come back son, we will die without you,” the parents of Mehran could be seen pleading in a video clip that went viral on social media sites. In the video, Mehran’s mother, uncle, and other family members could be seen pleading for their son to come back home.

Interestingly, an unverified audio clip also made rounds on social media where a speaker claiming to be Mehran states that he has joined ‘The Resistance Front’ militant outfit and that his family members should not look for him. A police official said that they are verifying the authenticity of the clip.

Mehran left his home at 7:15 pm on 19 May, after which his family members lodged a missing complaint at police station M R Gunj. (KNO)
