Even after elapsing over four months since the vaccination drive against Covid-19 was started in Jammu and Kashmir, around 19 percent of front-line workers in J-K are yet to get their first dose of vaccine.
Official sources said that earlier health care workers besides front-line workers were hesitant in taking the dose and now there is a shortage of vaccines.
As per the data availed by a local news agency, Kashmir News Observer (KNO), in Srinagar of 61,033 front-line workers, 47,270 have received first jab while 22,737 have received both jabs.
“The percentage of front line workers who have received the first jab is 65.98 percent while 37.25 percent have received the second jab,” the data reveals.
In Kulgam, of 7,327 front line workers, 100 percent have received the first jab and 62.503 percent have received the second jab. In Shopian, of 6,311, 73.63 percent received the first jab and 42.54 percent received the second jab. In Bandipora, of 11,076, 78.31 percent and 42.64 percent have received first and second jabs respectively. In Anantnag, of 21,634 front line workers, 65.78 percent have received first dose and 37.21 percent have received the second dose and in Baramulla, of 31,685 front line workers, 65.12 percent have received first jab and 39.05 percent have received second jab.
In Kupwara, out of 18,748 front-line workers, 69.24 percent have received the first jab and 43.98 percent have received the second jab. In Pulwama, of 17,832 workers 93.64 percent have received the first jab while 54.49 percent have received the second jab. In Ganderbal, of 6,519 front-line workers, 93.79 percent have received first jab and 60.22 percent have received second jab and in Budgam, of 23,745 workers 78.39 percent workers have received first jab while 50.32 percent have received second jab.
Similarly in Jammu, Kishtwar, Doda, Udhampur, Kuthua, Ramban, Samba, Rajouri, Poonch and Reasi 89.57 percent, 85.27 percent, 79.01percent, 100 percent, 100 percent, 100 percent, 87.42 percent, 85.63 percent, 75.99 percent and 99.73 percent front line workers have received first jab while as 64.94 percent, 46.55 percent, 49.95 percent, 55.61 percent, 68.09 percent, 63.21 percent, 52.24 percent, 52.79 percent 47.12 percent and 63.56 percent have received second dose respectively.
In aggregate form, of 359,542 front line workers, 291,978 (81.21 percent) have received first jab and 178,358 (49.61 percent) have received second jab respectively. (KNO)
