Srinagar: Kashmir valley continues to be in the grip of severe cold wave even as temperatures have seen a major drop .
On Sunday Srinagar recorded a minumum -0.6 degree Celsius while in Pahalgam the temperature plummetted to -10.2 degree Celsius and -10.4 degrees C in Gulmarg.
The weatherman has forecast more snow on January 28 and 29.
“There will be a fresh spell of snow due to western disturbance on January 28 and 29,” Sonum Lotus, director of Met department, Kashmir, told IANS.
He said that there will be some respite from the harsh cold wave conditions by the end of this month.
There have been several rounds of snowfall this year causing disruptions and blocking the Jammu-Srinagar national highway, the main road link between Kashmir and the rest of the country.
The highway however is open on Monday for one-way traffic from Srinagar to Jammu.
