Several dozen drivers of passenger motor vehicles on Friday protested at Press enclave Srinagar against the authorities for seizing their vehicles “unauthorisedly”. They said police seize their vehicles without any valid reason. A senior police officer told The Kashmir Walla that the High Court has banned the entry of these passenger vehicles into the city but they “flout” the directions due to which they are seized. “There are directions that those vehicles who ferry passengers to and fro Srinagar have to either stand their vehicles in Parimpora or Panthachowk. It was due to these vehicles that the city would face traffic jams and since their movement in the city has been banned the flow of vehicular traffic has been eased out,” the officer said and added. “Vehicles that are seized are given proper challans”
