Watch | Family of civilian killed in Shopian demands justice

Shahid Aejaz Rather, 21, was shot dead on Sunday outside the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) camp in Babapora area of Shopian. There are multiple versions by the police and CRPF over the circumstances that led to the killing of Shahid – an apple picker by profession. Police on Sunday said CRPF retaliated the fire and during cross-firing, one unidentified person got killed while CRPF had suggested that they opened fire after there was an attempt of snatching weapons. However, family said that it was a cold-blooded murder and demand justice. Aejaz was the second civilian who was killed in CRPF firing in recent times in Kashmir.
