Three tribal women of Bandipora on Thursday made a fervent appeal to authorities to inform them about the whereabouts of their husbands and sought their release. The women during a protest in Srinagar said that the police arrested their husband and since then they have not returned home. “We are being told that they have been jailed at Kot Balwal – over 300 km away from Bandipora – but we have no resources to go there”. The women identified their husbands as Abdul Bari, Muhammad Suliman Gujjar, and Muhammad Amin Gujjar. As per the police dossier, the trio were booked under Public Safety Act (PSA) on 19 October 2021 for their affiliation with The Resistance Front (TRF). The allegation their wives denied. However, attempts to reach Senior Superintendent [SSP] of Police Bandipora for comments could not materialize despite repeated attempts.
