An unidentified male jumped off from Cement Kadal into river Jhelum in Noorbagh area of summer-capital Srinagar on Friday evening.

Eyewitness told a local news agency, Global News Service (GNS) that the person appeared at the bridge this evening and in the blink of a moment jumped into the river.

The identity of the person could not be immediately known.

Soon after the news spread, teams of police including SDRF assisted by locals launched a search operation and ventured into the water body to rescue the person.

However, no trace was found when this report was filed. (GNS)
