The Jammu and Kashmir police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested two persons along with “sharp-edged” weapons in Udhampur district.

An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that a police party of PS Udhampur laid a surprise naka near airforce road Udhampur for checking of vehicles.

“During the naka checking police party signalled to stop one car bearing registration number JK21C 3441 for checking. During checking, police team recovered three sharp-edged weapons from the possession of two persons namely Sushant Pandotra son of Jawar Lal and Mukesh Sharma son of Dawarka Nath-both residents of Udhampur,” he said.

The official said that the duo was arrested on spot and vehicle was also seized.

He said that a case FIR No. 98/2021 U/S 4/25 Arms Act has been registered at PS Udhampur and further investigation of the case was underway—(KNO)
