Police on Saturday claimed to have foiled a weapon smuggling attempt with the recovery of two weapons from a dumper vehicle at Lower Munda crossing Qazigund in Kulgam district.

“Weapon smuggling bid foiled. Two AK-56 rifles, 10 pistols along with 18 magazines, 90 bullets besides nine grenades were recovered from a dumper (JKO2BB-0949) at Lower Munda crossing Qazigund,” police said in a statement as per GNS. Two militants associates— Zahid Nabi son of Ghulam Nabi Dar of Samboora Kakapora Pulwama and Mehraj-ud-Din Dar son of Ali Mohammad Dar of Samboora Pulwama have been arrested. (GNS)
