Jammu and Kashmir police on Monday morning buried all three Lashkar-e-Toiba militants who were killed in Reban area of Sopore in Sheeri area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Unnamed police officials told a local news agency, Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that the killed militants were unidentified and nobody approached them before the bodies were taken to Sheeri Baramulla.
However, Inspector-General of Police Kashmir Zone Vijay Kumar had said on Sunday, “Pakistani LeT Militant Usman killed in encounter. He was involved in recent Militant attack at Sopore in which one CRPF jawan was killed and one civilian was killed. Big success for Police & SFs.”
As per the new protocol, which the government claims is due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, militants are buried in north Kashmir. (Inputs from KNO)
