A baker, who was found dead yesterday at his residence in Srinagar’s Namchibal area of Fateh Kadal, has been posthumously found to be infected with COVID-19, said a police official.

Station House Officer (SHO) of Maharajgunj police station told The Kashmir Walla that the baker, Muhammad Amin Khana, 55, tested positive for the virus at Shri Maharaja Hari Singh (SMHS) hospital where his body was tested for COVID-19.

Khana, who lived alone, was found dead by a neighbour at his home who later informed the police, he said.

“We had taken him for autopsy where he tested positive for COVID-19,” said the officer.
