The president of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Mehbooba Mufti expressed condolence to the family of ASI Mushtaq Ahmed who was killed in a militant attack in Lal Bazar Srinagar.
The former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir Mufti said in a tweet: “Deeply saddened about the gruesome attack on police personnel in Lal Bazar. My condolences to ASI Mushtaq Ahmed’s family in this hour of grief [and] prayers for the two policemen critically injured.”
Ahmed was shot dead while two cops were injured after militants attacked a checkpoint party near the GD Goanka school in Lal Bazar area of Srinagar on Tuesday evening.
Kashmir police chief Vijay Kumar along with top civil and government officials on Tuesday evening paid tribute to Ahmad.
Kumar was accompanied by DIG Central Kashmir Range, Sujith Kumar, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, P K Pole, and SSP Srinagar Rakesh Balwal along with others participated in the wreath laying ceremony of slain Mushtaq and paid him tributes at District Police Lines, Srinagar.
