Handwara: A Special Police Officer (SPO) sustained critical injuries after hit by a speedy Tipper in Magam Handwara on Thursday evening, officials said.
They told local news agency GNS that the incident took place after the vehicle bearing registration number JK9C 2346 hit Tauseef Ahmad Tantray, 23, son of Ghulam Qadir Tantray.
The injured cop, part of a naka party, was immediately taken to a nearby hospital wherefrom he was referred to SMHS Srinagar for preferential treatment, they said.
Meanwhile a police official confirming the incident told GNS that the erring driver has been arrested and a case set in motion for further investigations. (GNS)
