With a pleasant view to attract the people in the first-ever wire-free and exclusively pedestrian market, the Srinagar Smart City Limited (SSCL) has used tactile tiles for the blind and specially-persons to bring respite to them while walking on the roads to reach their destinations.

Visually impaired persons will no longer have to face hardships and remain dependent on the support while passing through the roads in Lal chowk area as under the much-hyped smart city project, the SSCL has used tactile tiles to assist the blind and specially-abled persons on the roads.

Officials said the tactile tiles have been used by the SSCL at polo view market, outside Srinagar’s press enclave and other places to assist the blind and specially-abled persons.

Pertinently, it is for the first time that the government has made such a facility available on the roads for the blind and specially-abled persons in Srinagar.

Officials said that the tactile tiles would help the blind persons to identify the turn and way while passing through the road.

Notably, Srinagar City is witnessing a massive development ahead of the G20 event, slated to be held between May 22-24. (KNO)
