The Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology-Kashmir (SKUAST-K), Wadura professor, who is accused of allegedly sexually harassing a girl student, has been arrested, officials said on Friday.

An official told a local news agency, Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that the professor has been arrested, while further investigations into the case was going on.

He said the alleged accused was arrested after family of the girl student lodged a complaint against him.

A girl student had complained against a RAWE programme coordinator of molesting her, following which an enquiry was initiated against the coordinator.

Following the allegations, students inside the campus held a protest demonstration demanding action against the alleged accused professor. (KNO)
