Srinagar: Three militants were killed while two army troopers were injured in an overnight encounter in Hadipura area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Sunday.
Inspector General of Police Vijay Kumar told GNS that all three militants have been killed in an overnight gunfight.
Joint forces made sincere efforts including family members to young militants for surrender. However other militants didn’t allow him to surrender, IGP added.
However, the police hasn’t disclosed the identities of the killed.
Official sources told that two army soldiers were also injured and were shifted to 92 Base hospital for treatment.
Earlier Reports reaching GNS that a joint team of police and army launched a cordon and search operation in Hadipura.
As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off a gunfight. (GNS)
