A day after a young lady from Srinagar was arrested for stabbing her fiance,  a local court on Wednesday sent her to six days police remand for further investigation.

On Tuesday,  Asifa Bashir was arrested after being accused of stabbing and injuring a youth in downtown Srinagar.

Srinagar Police taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, said, “One person Adil Ahmad Kaloo of Bemina Srinagar was stabbed by knife by his fiancée Asifa Bashir of Parimpora in broad daylight in Chattabal. The injured is stable.”

“The lady was engaged to victim & nikaah had also taken place. FIR No 57/2023 in Safakadal PS. Accused lady arrested (sic),” it said.

The accused is currently lodged in women’s police station Rambagh under IPC 307 and 323.
