Jammu and Kashmir People’s Conference said that several prominent and senior political workers of the National Conference (NC) and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) from north Kashmir’s Kupwara district joined the party on Tuesday.
They joined the party in presence of its Chairman Sajad Gani Lone, senior leader and former Member Parliament Fayaz Ahmad Mir and DDC Kralpora Masarat Farooq, the People’s Conference said in a statement.
The new entrants include Shabir Ahmad Khan, Fayaz Ahmad Malik, Abdul Majeed Rather, Javed Ahmad Lone, Zahoor Ahmad Rather, Firdous Ahmad Malik, Firdous Ahmad Rather, Showkat Ahmad Lone, Abdul Hameed War, Abdul Majeed Bajar, Abdul Rashid Awan, Ghulam Mohammad Lone, Ghulam Hassan Lone, Parvez Ahmad Qureshi, Badar Ahmad Khan and Abdul Sattar Lone.
Welcoming them into the party fold, PC chairman Sajad Gani Lone said their joining will immensely benefit the party.
“I wholeheartedly welcome all of you into the party. The People’s Conference wants to play a pivotal role and contribute to the politics and welfare of J&K. I am hopeful that all of us will continue to work for the cause of people and further strengthen the party at the grassroots level,” Lone, as per the statement, said.
The new entrants pledged to work with “utmost honesty, diligence and passion” to strengthen the party, the statement said. “They expressed full faith and confidence in PC leadership to address the concerns of the people of Kashmir and help them navigate through these extraordinary and troubled times.”
