Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut joined the last leg of the Bharat Jodo Yatra in Jammu on Friday, reported The Indian Express.

Raut said that only Rahul Gandhi could challenge Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2024 and end the BJP’s “dictatorial regime”.

He added that an opposition front without Congress would be meaningless.

However, the Sena leader was mocked by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for taking part in the Yatra.

Mumbai BJP chief Ashish Shelar said the more Raut walks with the Congress leader, the more the doors of victory will close for Uddhav Thackeray’s outfit.

The Bharat Jodo Yatra resumed from Hatli Morh in this border district of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday.

Several gallantry award winners, including Param Vir Chakra recipient Captain Bana Singh, too joined the Yatra on Friday.

The Yatra was scheduled to start at 7 am but was delayed by an hour and fifteen minutes apparently due to the winter rains.

Several Congress leaders, including the party’s Jammu and Kashmir unit president Vikar Rasool Wani and his predecessor G A Mir, accompanied Gandhi during the final leg of the Bharat Jodo Yatra. “I am going back to my roots, I know the suffering of the people of J-K and come to you with a bowed head. My ancestors belonged to this land, I feel I am returning home,” Rahul Gandhi said in his address yesterday, as per the report.
