Srinagar: Two army personnel have received injuries in the gunfight that broke out between militants and government forces in Marwal area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Tuesday.

According to the reports, two army personnel have been injured while 2-3 militants are believed to be trapped. The gunfight broke out when a joint team of police, Army’s 50 RR and CRPF launched a cordon-and-search-operation in Marwal earlier today.

As the joint team encircled the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them. The fire was retaliated by the joint team, triggering off an encounter.
