Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir police’s timely action saved a girl from being kidnapped in Baramulla.

A local news gathering agency Kashmir News Service quoting an official reported that alert police rescued a girl in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Wednesday after she was kidnapped by a Sumo driver who has been identified as Irshad Ahmad Hajam of Putkha.

Officer said that police found a girl crying in a vehicle, which as per officer was moving at a high speed, while police continued chasing him and rescued the girl near Chinad area.

The officer said the driver fled from the area.

In this regard a case FIR number 126/363 has been registered and a manhunt has been launched to arrest the accused driver. (KNS)
