Jammu and Kashmir police on Saturday said it arrested two drug peddlers and recovered narcotics from their possession in Vilgam area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
A police spokesman said that continuing its efforts against drug peddling, Handwara Police arrested two peddlers and recovered narcotics in Vilgam area.
“On 16 September 2022, a police party of Police Station Vilgam, while on naka duty at Sonmulla crossing, apprehended two persons who had attempted to evade the police party in a suspicious manner,” he said
“On search, around 10 grams of Brown Sugar like substance was recovered from their possession,” the police said, adding that the persons have been identified as Shabir Ahmad Lone S/o Mohd Akbar, R/o Budnambal Chowkibal and, Shakeel Ahmad Mir S/o Ab Rashid R/o Zunreshi Chowkibal.
“In relation to this, FIR No. 102/2022 U/s 8/21, 29 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Vilgam and investigation has been initiated,” the police added.(KNS).
