Srinagar: The casual laborers and daily wagers of Public Health Engineering (PHE) under the banner of Kashmir PHE Joint Employees Association (KPHEJEA) Monday staged a protest to press for their demands.

Hundreds of casual labourers and daily wagers assembled at the office premises here at Kothi Bagh and raised slogans in favour of their demands, reported KNO.

Sajad Ahmad Parray, president of the association said that the casual labourers, daily wagers, ITI workers, drivers, land donors and others are on strike from last four months and their plights are being ignored.

He said that they will launch an agitation in case the government fails to fulfill their demands, adding that thousands of people who are serving in the department from last many years are being pushed to the wall.

Parray further stated that they have been promised that they will get their salaries on time, but unfortunately, the promises proved hoax.

They appealed the Jammu and Kashmir administration to look into the matter at an earliest and demanded immediate fulfillment of their demands.

The association also threatened to launch agitation in case it failed to fulfill their demands. (KNO)
