Indian Army Tuesday objected to a ‘construction’ being started by Pakistan Rangers along Line of Control in Teetwal sector in frontier north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, official sources said.

They told GNS that Indian Army after noticing an ‘unusual activity of construction’ by Pakistan Rangers close to the border, showed its displeasure asking the Pakistan Rangers to stop the ‘unwarranted construction’, using loudspeakers.

A senior police officer in the meantime told GNS that the ‘construction’ has stopped in the area. “They had started constructing some structure on the other side of the border which however fell within 500 mtr range from this side”, the officer said.

“As a general protocol no side is allowed to do any sort of construction unless either of the side is intimated in advance”, he said adding had they intimated they could have constructed the structure.

The police officer said that it was not however immediately ascertained whether it was a bunker or any hutment. (GNS)
