Srinagar: Police on Saturday refuted rumours regarding grenade attacks at Maharaja Bazaar and Mehjoor Nagar area of Srinagar city.
In statement issued to GNS, the police said that there is rumour doing rounds about some grenade attack in Srinagar today at Maharaja bazaar and Mehjoor Nagar.
It is clarified that no such attack has taken place.
The police spokesman further said that media fraternity is requested to kindly verify news before spreading it. Such irresponsible reporting has tendency to cause panic among citizens of Srinagar. (GNS)
