An army trooper has been injured in an ongoing gunfight in Redwani area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Friday.

A top police officer told a local news agency, Global News Service (GNS) that army personnel was injured in an ongoing gunfight in Redwani.

He was immediately evacuated to a nearby hospital, where his condition is said to be stable, the officer added.

Earlier, a joint team of police and army launched a cordon and search operation in the Redwani area.

As the joint team of forces intensified searches, the hiding militants fired upon the forces leading to a gunfight. (GNS)
