Inspector General of Police Vijay Kumar on Wednesday set to rest rumours about internet shutdown and reducing its speed in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday in view all party meeting being chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“There will be no internet shutdown or downgrading of speed,” IGP Kumar told a local news agency, Global News Service (GNS) .

The clarification comes as rumours about internet shutdown were flying thick and fast on social media, causing unease among the people, especially student community who are dependent on internet for online classes amid closure of educational institutions due to covid-19 pandemic. (GNS)
