On Thursday afternoon, mobile telephony was snapped in Pulwama district as one militant was killed in an ongoing gunfight with the government forces in Meej Pampore area of Anwatipora, south Kashmir.

In Shopian district, too, mobile internet services were snapped after the second gunfight of the day broke out between militants and government forces in Bandpawa village of Imam Sahib in south Kashmir.

Another resident from Kakapora, Pulwama, who was on the fixed-line internet connection, said, “The phone services are not working. Mobile internet was snapped in the morning.”

However, Superintendent of Police, Pulwama, Ashish Mishra, refused to comment on this. District Development Commissioner, Pulwama, Dr. Raghav Lankar didn’t respond to calls for comment. This story will be updated accordingly.
