The body of a missing lady of Shar Shali was recovered from river Jhelum by Police at Khankahbagh area of Pampore in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Thursday afternoon.
Officials told a local news agency, Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that a body was spotted by some locals and they accordingly informed police, who rushed to the spot and took the body into their custody.
They identified her as 26-year-old Rukhsana Akhtar, daughter of Ali Mohammad Bhat of Shar Shali village in Khrew belt of Pampore.
They said that the lady was missing since 18 January following which her family had filed a missing report and had sought help from police and public to help them in tracing her.
They further added the body of deceased was taken to Sub district Hospital Pampore and after conducting autopsy, the body was handed over to the family members for last rites and investigation in this regard has been taken up. (KNO)
