Jammu and Kashmir police on Wednesday claimed to have busted a militant module in general area Kot Budhan forest of Mahore.

“In a joint cordon and search operation launched by Reasi Police and Indian Army (58 Rashtriya Rifles) a militants hideout was busted in General Area Kot Budhan Forest of Mahore and recovered explosive, ammunition and other items,” a police spokesman said.

On an information about presence of a hideout, search operation was conducted for three days in which hideout was busted, the statement said.

“From the hideout, live grenade 01, round of AK-47 04, Fired Cartridge of AK-47 01, damaged Syringes 02, Lighter 01, Indian Currency Rs. 1400/- Scissor 01, Utensils 06, Torch 01, Blanket 02 and Clothes 02 were recovered,” it said.

In this regard, police said that a case under FIR number 22/2022 under section 120-B, 121, 121-A, 122, 123 IPC, 7/25 Arms Act. 3/4 Explosive Act & 13/18, 23/39 UAPA was registered at Police Station Mahore and investigation has been started. (KNO)
