The Jammu and Kashmir police on Wednesday claimed to have busted a militant hideout in Seer/Pastrana area of south Kashmir’s Awantipora.

In a statement the police said that upon information of militant hideout in the forest area of Seer/ Pastoona, Police along with 42 RR and 180 Bn CRPF launched a search operation in the said area. During search one hideout of outfit Hizb-ul-Mujahideen was busted and subsequently destroyed.

The size of the hideout is approximately 5 ft × 7ft ×4 ft. Incriminating material of proscribed outfit Hizb-ul-Mujahideen and other material like utensils, food items etc has been recovered from the said hideout.

The statement further stated that the material has been taken into Police custody for investigation purpose.

Case FIR number 14/2021 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Tral, reads the statement.(GNS)
