Former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti was on Wednesday disallowed from reaching the Press Colony in Srinagar, where families of killed civilians are protesting.
Since morning, families of civilians killed in alleged Srinagar gunfight on Monday are protesting and demanding justice and bodies of their loved ones.
Talking to The Kashmir Walla over phone, Mufti, who is the president of People’s Democratic Party (PDP), said that she was on way from the airport to join the families at Press Colony.
“The police and forces were stationed on our way and we were not allowed. We had told them that we want to go through press colony but they didn’t allow us to reach there,” said Mufti.
The police claim that two of the killed were associates of militants while another one was killed in cross-fire, a charge denied by families.
The families allege that all the three killed were murdered in cold-blood and had no ties with militants or militancy.
