A Wildlife Department team on Friday afternoon captured a leopard cub in Koil Kareva area in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

Officials told a local news agency, Global News Service (GNS) that the cub was spotted by locals in the forest area side, following which a departmental team reached the spot to rescue the animal. The baby leopard was taken into custody and simultaneously searches launched in and around the vicinity to trace its mother, they said.

“We have been searching for the mother leopardess to reunite it with the baby and if it happens both would be sent to Dachigam Park”, they further said. (GNS)
