In wake of fresh snowfall, the district administration Kupwara in north Kashmir has restricted the vehicular movement towards the border areas as a precautionary measure.
An official communique, a copy of which is available with news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), reads that “In view of the snowfall in border areas, slippery condition of roads and to save precious lives for accidental mishaps, it is requested to restrict the traffic movement on Kupwara to border areas.”
The areas named in the official communique include Keran, Karnah, Machil, Jumagund, Budnambal and Kumkadi from both sides.
It added that the traffic must remain restricted till the improvement of weather conditions.
Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Imam Din has directed the SDM Karnah, Tehsildar Karnah, Kralpora and Kupwara for necessary action in this regard—(KNO)
