Krittika Jyotsna assumed charge as Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal taking over from Shafqat Iqbal and becoming the second woman to command the district.

The function was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Farooq Ahmad Baba, ACR Ganderbal, SDM Kangan, ACD Ganderbal, CPO, SEs and Executive Engineers of various wings besides other district and sectoral officers of the district.

Earlier, Dilshad Khan had served as the first woman DC of Ganderbal district during 2011, reported a local newspaper. Jyotsna, a UP cadre 2014 batch IAS officer had bagged fourteenth rank in the UPSC examination.

She urged all the officers to work with added zeal and enthusiasm and prioritise works as per the needs of the people so that the dream of sustainable development continues in the district.

Handing over the charge to her, Iqbal expressed his gratitude to the gathering of officers. While speaking on the occasion, Joytsna said that it was an honour to take over as the DC of district Ganderbal and praised the outgoing DC for his commitment and devotion to the public.
