Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha is going to inaugurate Kashmir’s first multiplex designed by INOX on Tuesday at 11 am.

Kashmir Valley’s first-ever multiplex is all set to be unveiled in the high-security zone Sonwar area of this capital city on 20 September.

Vijay Dhar, a prominent Kashmiri Pandit businessman and the brainchild behind the project, had started construction work on the multiplex at Shivpora near Badami Bagh Cantonment, around two years ago. The cinema halls are likely to open with Amir Khan starer Lal Singh Chadda, a local newspaper report read.

Dhar also runs Delhi Public School (DPS) Srinagar, a prominent school in the city.

Dhar’s son Vikas Dhar told The New Indian Express that they are receiving requests from people to start with an Aamir Khan movie.

“Apparently Aamir Khan is favourite of 90 percent people here. The shooting of Lal Singh Chadda had also taken place in our school (DPS Srinagar). We would love to screen the movie on the first day,” he said adding, “If we start with Lal Singh Chadda, it will be for emotional reasons.”
