Jammu-Srinagar Highway was closed for traffic due to a major landslide in Hingni area.
An official said that road has been blocked due to major landslide at Hingni, Nachlana area of Ramban.
The Jammu- Srinagar Highway is the lifeline to the landlocked valley as all the food and other essentials are transported through this road.
“NH-44 is blocked due to landslide at Hingni, Nachlana. People are advised to undertake journey after confirmation from TCUs,” Jammu and Kashmir Traffic police said.
It said that the clearance work of the highway is underway. (KS)
