A high alert was issued in Jammu and its adjoining areas after the residents received Pakistan’s mobile signals, reported Dainik Jagran.

Subsequently, a “nearly three-hour” search operation was conducted in the city’s Bharat Nagar area, the report added quoting an unnamed senior police official, before agencies called it off upon no “suspicious activities”.

The report further claimed that raids were also conducted in south Kashmir’s Anantnag.

Quoting unnamed sources, the report added that the government forces “are on high alert as they fear that the signals might be used by terrorists hiding in the Valley”, or “some residents might also use Pakistani SIM cards”.
