Body of a 25-year-old man, belonging to south Kashmir’s Shopian district, was found lying near a railway bridge in Banihal of Ramban district, official said.
Officials said that one Mohammad Yousaf Dar son of Abdul Razaq Dar, resident of Chitragam approached the local police station at Zainapora, revealing he through social media came to know about the body of his nephew lying near a railway bridge in Banihal.
Identifying the deceased as Asif Ramzan son of Mohammad Ramzan Ganie of Chittragam, the person said he (deceased) had gone shopping last Friday for his marriage.
“On contacting, the police in Banihal confirmed the recovery of the body from the area”, the officials said.
It has been learnt that the (now) deceased person was due to get married off on May 16, 2022.
Meanwhile, a few family members are on their way to Banihal to ferry back the mortal remains of their beloved. (GNS)
