Kashmir Bar Association on Saturday asked the Chief Justice of India (CJI) N V Ramana to intervene in the resolution of the issues relating to the speedy dispensation of justice to uphold the rule of law and constitutional freedoms.
“Kashmir Bar Association requested CJI to intervene in the resolution of the issues relating to the speedy dispensation of justice. The Bar Association has also extended an invitation to the Chief Justice if India to visit Kashmir Bar,” the Bar Association in a press release said.
It said that the Kashmir Bar Association Chairman Advocate N A Ronga and Chief Spokesman Advocate G N Shaheen met CJI on Saturday at The Lalit in Srinagar.
“The Association raised important issues with the Hon’ble Chief Justice in the meeting related to the justice delivery system in Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh. The Hon’ble Chief Justice was pleased to give a patient audience and assured the remedial measures will be discussed with the relevant quarters,” Bar in the release said.
It said that Kashmir Bar Association Executive members along with the Chairman JKHCBA participated in the foundation stone laying ceremony of new high court complex at Bemina on the invitation of the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh High Court Justice Pankaj Mittal.
