Three Kashmiri students in Agra, who were booked for posting on social media in favour of Pakistan cricket team in the T20 World Cup Match, have been arrested by police on Wednesday.

The students are from engineering college in Uttar Pradesh Agra and were identified as Arshid Yusuf, Inayat Altaf Sheikh and Showkat Ahmed.

Nasir Kheuhami, national spokesperson of Jammu and Kashmir Students Association told The Kashmir Walla, “They were arrested. A batchmate who was with them informed me that they have been arrested by the police.”

He added that police is not sharing First Information Report (FIR) details. “[There is a] sense of fear among other students living in the area,” he said.

On Tuesday, the students were suspended by the college and booked by police in Agra for allegedly raising pro-Pakistan slogans and uploading status in favour of Pakistan after the match.

On Sunday night, at least 14 Kashmiri students were thrashed in different cities and 7 of them sustained injuries after Pakistan’s victory in the T-20 World Cup match against the Indian team.
