Srinagar:  As many as fifteen sheep were killed by the wild animals in Drungoosa village of Mawer Handwara in north Kashmir in a single week.

According to the local residents, the wild animals are continuously attacking the livestock in the area during night hours and have killed scores of the livestock so far.

The people of the area have alleged they have informed the wildlife department several times but they are paying no heed towards it.

Those whose livestock has been killed have been identified as  Ghulam Nabi Chopan Son of Mohd Sabir Chopan, Abdul Ahad Chopan Son of Mohd Sabir Chopan, Mohammad Maqbool Chopan, Abdul Gaffer Chopan all residents of Drungoosa Mawer.

The people of the area also said that after the continuous attack on the livestock, panic has gripped the local residents.

They have urged the authorities to catch the animal in the area at the earliest so that livestock of the people can be saved. ( KNS)
