Srinagar: Scores of employees working under Hindustan Construction Company (HCC) staged a protest on Friday in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district to demand release of their wages pending from last ten months.
The protesting employees under the banner of the HCC Employees Front assembled to press the government over their demands of releasing their wages from past ten months.
Ajaz Ahmad Mir, General Secretary of Employees Union HCC said that their wages have not been released from last ten months, thus leaving the families of employees to lurch at large.
He said that they will continue to demonstrate till the HCC higher ups will take any proper decision regarding their issues. “Our families particularly school going children have been suffering badly,” he said.
The protesters also threatened to go for indefinite hunger strike in case their genuine demands are not fulfilled.
