The family of a man from Central Kashmir’s Budgam district, who has joined militancy, Wednesday appealed their son to return to his pregnant wife and 4-year-old son, reported a local news agency, Kashmir News Observer (KNO).

A youth Tariq Ahmed Bhat of Hanjigund Chadoora area of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district joined militancy recently forcing his family to make an appeal to return soon. According to a video available, the family members are requesting militants to send their son, who is an auto driver by profession, back home. Mr. Bhat had announced through audio which went viral that he has joined the militant ranks.

His family members said that they approached the police station Chadoora on 20 September and lodged a missing report about their son. “We are shocked because we never believed that Tariq was inclined towards militancy. But we request him to come back to home for his 4-year-old son, pregnant wife, and old parents,”‘ one of Mr. Bhat’s family members said.

Mr. Bhat, who was an auto driver by profession, had gone missing on Friday and they searched him everywhere but failed. “On Sunday evening, we heard audio in which our son announced that he has joined militant ranks,” the family members said.

Mr. Bhat’s wife said: ” I appeal my husband wherever he is, to come back home. Do not leave your son. I have a baby in my womb who will take care of him. If you won’t come back, we will die.”
