Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan criticized India for “human rights violations in Kashmir”, during his speech at the United Nations General Assembly, reported India Today.
As per the report, he said that Indian officials forcefully snatched the dead remains of “great Kashmiri leader” Syed Ali Shah Geelani after he died earlier this month at the age of 91.
Geelani’s relatives alleged that his body was taken and buried without their permission.
As per the report, Khan has appealed to the United Nations General Assembly to demand that Geelani be properly buried. He stated that Pakistan wishes for peace but that it is India’s responsibility to engage effectively.
PM Khan in a pre-recorded speech televised on Friday evening at the UNGA had said, “New Delhi has embarked on what it ominously calls the final solution for the Jammu and Kashmir dispute.”
