An Improvised Explosive Device (IED) which was found on Baramulla—Srinagar highway Saturday morning at Putkha area of Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, has been diffused.

A senior police officer told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that the govt forces detected the explosive device lying by the roadside following which bomb disposal squad (BDS) was called in

He said that the device was destroyed through a controlled mechanism carried out by bomb squad.

The officer futher said that the traffic movement which was stopped as a precaution on Baramulla—Srinagar highway has been restored soon after it was destroyed.

“A case has been registered and police have started the investigation,” he added—(KNO)
