Srinagar: A house was damaged fully while around seven other houses got partially damaged due to fresh shelling from Pakistan side in Poonch villages on Friday.

Officials said that the house of Sharifa, wife of Late Jalal Din caught fire after a mortar shell fired by Pakistan hit its wall.

The fire left the house fully damaged and reduced it to ashes, they said. “Although no loss of life was report but entire structure was gutted in the incident,” officials said.

Besides, seven other residential houses were partial damage belonging to Mohammad Azim, Mohammad Amin, Gokan, Qamar Din, Abdul Shakoor, all resident of Banpat Dokri area of Poonch.

Pertinently, several villages of Poonch sector along Line of Control (LoC) including Qasba, Kirni, Shahpur came under intense shelling from Pakistan side on Friday noon and shelling lasted for over five hours intermittently. (KNO)
