Shopian: Two associates of Ansar Ghazwat ul Hind (AGH) militant outfit were arrested after a hideout was busted in South Kashmir’s Shopian district, said police on Sunday.

Senior Superintendent of Police (Shopian), Amritpal Singh, told The Kashmir Walla that the police busted a hideout in the house of man associated with the AGH and recovered arms and ammunition.

Another police official added that a police party from Shopian, personnel from 1 Rashtriya Rifles and CRPF 178 Battalion raided the house of an AGH activist Muhammad Amin Wani alias Molvi at Safnagri Zainapora and busted a hideout located in his house.

“Two magazines and 15 rounds of AK-47 rifle, a grenade and 2 pouches were recovered from the hideout,” police sources were quoted saying by Kashmir News Trust.

The house owner and a 23-year-old youth Aqib Manzoor Sheikh of Babapora were apprehended.

Police has registered an FIR vide number 81/2020 under section 188, 19, 23, 38, 39, 20 ULAP Act, 7/25 Arms Act.
