Health Department today ordered an inquiry into the allegations of the death of a teenager due to ‘medical negligence’ in the Gurez area of Bandipora.

The teenager was referred to the NTPHC Bagtoor and the family alleged there was no medical staff in the facility, reported a local news agency, Kashmir News Service (KNS) yesterday.

A copy that is lying with KNS read the death of a 14-year-old child at NTPHC Bagtore and the constitution of the inquiry committee thereof. “A team of below-mentioned officers/officials was constituted to inquire into the death of a 14-year-old child at NTPHC Bagtore,” it read.

It further read: “Four member committee includes Dr Mohd Asif Khan, Dr Parvaiz Ahmad Wani, Dr Manzoor Ahmad, Mr Mohd Yaqoob Nasir headed by Dr Asif Khan shall submit the factual report with specific recommendations to the office of the undersigned within five days positively.” (KNS)
